First dives
Today in the afternoon they made their first dive in the Ertugrul site. Cemal Pulak, Tufan Turanli, Selcuk Kolay and the Japanese diving team dove on an area were they could see some ship's guns and other small pieces. The future dives are looking really promising and exciting.

Multibeam survey finished
The multibeam sonar team headed by Mr. Hantani finished their work and processed their data in the computer giving a detailed map of the sea bottom in 3D. The area covers approximately 2 square kilometers and, although it does not reveal any specific artifact or part from the ship, it is giving a very important foundation for the survey and a very precise base in which to add all the data that the team is going to collect in the next 2 weeks.
As in any project the first few days always go into official matters not only to pay respect to the local authorities but to secure the success of the project now and in future years. Tufan and the team have been meeting with the Mayor, the Coast Guard, and the head of the Fisheries, and held an overwhelming press conference attended by journalists from all major newspapers and TV stations.
