Today, I did not go on the sea. Instead, I was translating and looking for some new archival materials as well. In the morning, I began translating a diary from the Oshima Village chief, Mr.Oki.
Next to the Turkish monument and Museum in the Oshima Island there is a special store run by a Turkish citizen, Ismet Sekerli. He sells his carpets and Turkish souvenirs to visitors and tourists, and from the internet sends them to every corner of Japan from the small island. He also sells the most typical, and delicious, Turkish ice cream that he and his brother produce especially for the "Ottoman & Konak" shop.

Important visitors
Today Claude and Barbara Duthuit and George and Ann Bass arrive in Kushimoto, they will be with us for a week. As INA veterans they are very valuable observers and participants in the project. They have been to almost all INA projects carried on until today and their expertise will be a very important asset in the next few days. We hope we’ll read their views in the web site soon.
